Fruit Cocktail Dessert

Cook: 45 to 50 minutes | Servings: 6 to 8 servings

Ingredients

  • 1 cup flour
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • Dash of salt
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 1 can (15-ounce) fruit cocktail
  • 3/4 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 1/2 cup chopped nuts

Instructions

  1. Heat oven to 350 degrees.
  2. Mix flour, sugar, baking soda, salt and beaten egg. Add fruit cocktail and mix until incorporated.
  3. Pour mixture into ungreased 8-by 8-inch square pan.
  4. In a small bowl, mix brown sugar and nuts, then sprinkle on top of fruit mixture in pan.
  5. Bake 45 to 50 minutes. Serve warm with whipped cream, if desired.
