Fruit Cocktail Dessert¶

Ingredients¶
- 1 cup flour
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- Dash of salt
- 1 egg, beaten
- 1 can (15-ounce) fruit cocktail
- 3/4 cup brown sugar, packed
- 1/2 cup chopped nuts
Instructions¶
- Heat oven to 350 degrees.
- Mix flour, sugar, baking soda, salt and beaten egg. Add fruit cocktail and mix until incorporated.
- Pour mixture into ungreased 8-by 8-inch square pan.
- In a small bowl, mix brown sugar and nuts, then sprinkle on top of fruit mixture in pan.
- Bake 45 to 50 minutes. Serve warm with whipped cream, if desired.
