Savory Slow-Cooked Chicken Cacciatore

Ingredients

  • 1 tbsp. olive oil
  • 3 lb. chicken parts, skin removed
  • 2 tbsp. Italian seasoning, crushed
  • 1 can (28 oz.) crushed tomatoes in puree
  • 1 lb. mushrooms, cut in half
  • 2 large onions, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/4 cup Swanson Chicken Stock
  • 1/2 tsp. ground black pepper
  • 6 cups hot cooked fettuccine, cooked and drained

Instructions

    1. Heat oil in 12-inch skillet over medium-high heat. Add chicken and cook until well browned.
    1. Stir in Italian seasoning, tomatoes, mushrooms, onions, pepper, and garlic. Pour into 6-qt. slow cooker.
    1. Cover and cook on LOW 7 to 8 hr. or until chicken is cooked through. Remove chicken to cutting board. Keep warm.
    1. Pour sauce into 3-qt. saucepan. Stir in stock. Cook over medium-high heat 10 min. or until mixture is smooth and thickened.
    1. Serve sauce with chicken and fettuccine.
