Sweet & Sour Red Cabbage With Apples & Ham

Ingredients

  • 1 jar (16 oz.) Aunt Nellie's Sweet & Sour Red Cabbage
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 2 medium Granny Smith apples, unpeeled, cut into 1/2-inch thick wedges
  • 1 cup diced cooked ham
  • 3 tbsp packed light brown sugar
  • 1/4 tsp ground allspice or cinnamon

Instructions

  1. Drain cabbage.
  2. Melt butter in large skillet over medium-high heat.
  3. Add apples and ham; cook 1 min, stirring occasionally.
  4. Stir in brown sugar and allspice; cook and stir 2 min.
  5. Add cabbage; cook until heated through, about 2 min, stirring occasionally.

Notes

Variation: Omit ham for meatless dish.
